If you are coming in from out of town, you may decide to stay at one of our Law Preview partner hotels. Below are some of the most frequently asked questions about coordinating housing arrangements through Law Preview.

HOTEL FAQs

If I'm coming in from out of town, does Law Preview provide housing?
While hotel accommodations are not included as part of your Law Preview tuition, we do have partner hotels in most cities that provide our students with a special rate. In an effort to keep your costs down, we will even match you up with a roommate if you want. Simply indicate that you would like to receive information about our partner hotels when you register for the class, and you will receive an email with hotel rates and instructions for adding your name to the rooming list.

I'm coming into town for the 1-Day Legal Research & Writing Workshop, can I get a hotel room through Law Preview?
Unfortunately, we are only able to offer housing through our partner hotels for those students who attend the 5- or 6-day Law Preview program.

Why do I need to give you a credit card to reserve a room at a Law Preview partner hotel?
Our partner hotels ask that we provide them with guests' credit card numbers in order to reserve the room. No charges will be issued to the card until you check out.

Can I finance any part of my travel expenses with a Sallie Mae loan?
Yes. If you are financing you Law Preview tuition with a Sallie Mae loan, you can also finance up to $2,000 in related travel expenses. For more information about financing your travel expenses, visit the Sallie Mae Financing FAQ page.

What does "double occupancy" mean next to the hotel price?
Double occupancy means that the quoted price is based on the assumption that you would like to have a roommate during your stay. If you would prefer to have a room all to yourself, the cost would be 2x the "double occupancy" price.

How do you match roommates?
Our database will randomly match roommates based on your Law Preview course selection, gender and smoking preference. If you know a person who is attending Law Preview and you would both like to share a room, simply provide the person's last name when adding your name to the rooming list and we will match you up.

What if you cannot find a roommate for me?
If you ask for a roommate, we will find you one or Law Preview will pay for the other half of your room. The only exception to this policy is if a student requests a smoking room and we can only match them with a roommate in a non-smoking room; in that situation the person in the smoking room would have to agree to switch to the non-smoking room, otherwise they would be obligated to pay for the smoking room as a single.

Can I still add my name to the rooming list after it has been submitted to the hotel?
Sure, but we cannot guarantee that they will be able to accommodate you at the advertised price, or your request for a roommate.

I called the hotel directly and they did not offer me the price advertised on Law Preview's website, what gives?
In order to take advantage of special pricing from our partner hotels, you need to add your reservation to our rooming list, which we then submit to the hotel. If you call the general reservation desk at the hotel, they often have no idea about the special rate we negotiated with the hotel's group sales office.

If I'm coming in from out of town, do I need to stay at the partner hotel?
Absolutely not. If you have friends or family in the area, or find a better deal, you should feel free to take advantage of those options.

How do I get from the airport to the hotel?
Most cities have airport express vans that take passengers to popular downtown hotels. These vans are often as much as 50% less expensive than taking a taxi.
